Today we slept in until 7:30 am. We woke up, got dressed, brushed our teeth and grabbed all of our equipment we needed. Today we were touring wineries around Cape Town. We went to two wineries, one area with lots of different food and drink stores as well as three animal encounters. Our special driver's name was Oscar. He was funny, friendly and showed us lots of amazing scenery, sights and places.
Our second stop was the Chimp-Haven. It was included in our special Lion Park experience. We saw five chimps, one parrot, two lynxes and lost of other small animals. The highlight of here was when a big chimpanzee started dancing, picked up a carrot and threw it at us! The force of the throw was so strong, the carrot snapped in half and one half got stuck in the fence!!!
Our third stop was our first winery. Dad and Mum both got a choice of six wines with six different cheeses included. Lexi and decided to just get the cheese palette as she cannot drink wine just yet ... but she did get two different grape juices that smelt and looked like wine. I got the juices but didn't get the cheese as I do not like cheese at all. The juice was so tasty, we decided to buy one bottle of it. On Mum and Dad's cheese palettes they had feta, cream cheese, brie, cream cheese with sundried tomatoes, cream cheese rolled in chilli and lime and last but not least ( not really ) blue cheese. Our highlight was definitely the juice and wine.
Later on that day we also visited the Spice Route where we had some ice cream, I chose peanut butter flavour and it was delicious. Mum and Dad tried some cured meat.
On our way back to the hotel Oscar stopped at Spier Estate where we visited the animal encounters. Here we saw many eagles and other bird life. I had a photo taken with three owls resting on me.
